Step Up Resources are designed to provide tools to assist achievement in maths and language learning programmes in Education Centres, schools and homes. Some resources are written specially for Kip McGrath programmes and can only be purchased by Kip McGrath Centres. If you are a Kip McGrath Centre Director please go to the KMEC Resources section. We also have a large range of resources which are available for schools or individuals to purchase. These include Numeracy, Reading and Writing resources. Step Up Resources is owned and operated by Katharine Beaumont and Sandra Edkins.
Katharine Beaumont is the Director of the Kip McGrath Education Centres in Te Kuiti, Otorohanga and Taumarunui. Katharine was awarded Franchisee of the year at the Kip McGrath 2008 conference. She is a fully qualified teacher who has experience in all levels of the New Zealand Education system, including specialist knowledge in the maths (primary and secondary) and reading (junior primary) areas. She has also taught gifted and talented education programmes and holds a certificate in adult teaching. It is in the Kip McGrath tuition environment where Step Up Resources were born in 2004, and they are now used extensively to complement and supplement learning programmes.
Sandra Edkins is an experienced teacher who has tutored at the Te Kuiti Kip McGrath Centre. She has taught largely in multi-level classrooms and developed her own teaching resources over the years to cater for class programmes and individual student needs. Creative and innovative, it is her inspiration and ideas that have formed the activities in many of the Step Up Resources.
Sandra and Katharine have been teaching and working together since 1998. Sandra handles the administrative side of Step Up Resources and Katharine handles the marketing side. Both contribute to the writing of new resources.
